This photo session took place at a city feral cat feeding station in a quiet residential area of Zagreb, Croatia, surrounded by apartment blocks, parked cars, and a small patch of overgrown grass that has become a safe meeting point for the colony. Every portrait tells a story of adaptation and quiet endurance – cats who have learned to live in the rhythm of city life, under the care of volunteers from the S.O.S. Cat rescue group.
In this part of Zagreb, the feeding station blends into everyday surroundings. Neighbors pass by on their way to work, a few stop to leave food, others simply nod in recognition. The cats emerge cautiously, stretching and blinking into the daylight, each one carrying its own history of survival.
Through these photographs, I wanted to show the harmony between the wild and the domestic—the way these resilient cats carve out their place in the middle of human life, often unseen, yet deeply present.
